Avengers: Age of Ultron review

I LOVE ANYTHING MARVEL... I thought I'd put that out there.

This film from the beginning was spot on! The funny one liners from Thor, Captain America and of course Iron Man were perfect. I loved the running joke throughout the film, that Steve aka Captain America hates bad language and tells Iron Man (Stark) for swearing. Also, after a small party each of the Avengers try and pick up Thor's hammer, none of them can although Captain American jolts it a little (Thor's face is priceless).

As expected this film has a lot of exciting scenes and things that cannot be missed, and few little twists and turns that I was not expecting! This film sees the arrival of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver... but I am torn as to which Quicksilver I prefer, and although Aaron Johnson plays him perfectly, including funny little one liners... I am still in love with Quicksilver from X-Men, Days of Future Past, Evan Peters plays him splendidly, he is funny, charismatic and lets not forget perfect on the eyes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, despite Loki (Tom Hiddleston) not being present in the cast. I am also excited for Thor 3 to arrive on screens soon, along with Captain America: Civil War, another Avengers, more X-Men films and other Marvel spin-off films. I loved seeing all the original characters back and the introduction to two more Avengers (Quicksilver and Scarlet-witch). I cannot wait for what the next lot of films have to offer. I am never disappointed with a Marvel film. This is up there among my top 10 favourite Marvel films, but it cannot beat Guardians of the Galaxy, Days of Future Past or Thor (there is something about Loki okay).

Without spoiling anything I do hope the ending is wrong and that a certain Avenger is not dead! They best not be!

If you haven't seen the film GO WATCH IT PLEASE! below is the trailer.

I have a cunning plan!

Recently I have purchased yet another pile of books. I have a ridiculous amount of books but that will not stop me reading them. But the trouble it, I am finding it really hard to decide which book to read next. I have so many fantastic books, that picking one to read seems impossible. So I have decided to let my decision be made by fate. Much like Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory did for an episode... although mine will not be dice I roll rather putting my hand into a jar and seeing what book title I pull out.

I have started to write the tittles of the books on pieces of paper, and putting them into a jar. Today I finished the Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, which I shall review in the next few days, I was pleasantly surprised by this book and how lovely it was. So I am currently book free and looking for something new to read and I shall leave that to the jar to decide.

I am now calling my jar, the Jar of Destiny... so from my magical mystery jar, I chose The Quiet Game by Greg Iles which I was very happy about, because it is one of the new books I have recently purchased and is a genre of book I rarely read. It's a crime novel, I've never read any crime before so this is going to be a big change for me. It is also a rather large book, so may take me a little longer than usual to read, so far I am 50 or so pages in and I am loving it. It is beautifully written, and as it is a series I am already looking forward to reading the rest.

As I was writing this blog I couldn't help but buy 3 more books... I try to buy the majority of my books from book shops, unfortunately my trusted Waterstones is currently shut as they are refurbishing, so I brought these 3 new books online. I try to avoid this because slowly the beloved book shops are closing down because they cannot keep up with amazon. So, whenever I can I try to buy direct from the bookshop, and its always good to talk to the staff who are always enthusiastic about reading, and always recommend books.

I am pretty sure my book buying habit is a problem, but hey my parents always knew what to get me for my birthday and Christmas... BOOKS! or book vouchers I'm not fussy.

My last few weeks at university.

The 31st of May will be my last day at university. I would have spent the last 3 year of my life at Plymouth University, attempting to get a degree. All work is handed in, gosh only knows how many words I've written, how many mental break downs and how many unhealthy snacks consumed. I've spent the best part of my uni life either in the library or hung over! But hey that's just part of uni life right?

I've met some amazing people at uni, friends I will never forget. And a few close friends who I will stay in contact for a very long time. There are some people I cannot wait to forget and never see again, but that is only a few.

What have I learnt from uni?
  1. How to be independent.
  2. That I can write a 3,000 word assignment in less than 12 hours and still get a decent grade.
  3. That money runs out really quickly.
  4. I discovered the joys of NANDOS!
  5. Attempting to date/relationship at uni is extremely hard!
  6. Despite being at uni, there will always be people who think that we are still in high school!
  7. NETFLIX and YouTube!
  8. You can survive on 30p pasta for a very long time.
  9. Thank goodness for spell-check.
  10. The friends you make and the experiences you gain are priceless.
When I arrived in Plymouth I was scared, I was always someone who preferred to stay at home, I'd only be clubbing twice before and I was extremely nervous. But I was lucky to have great housemates and I made friends easily. I know that is not always the case. Sometimes I felt lonely, but don't we all? It's all about coping and finding things you enjoy doing on your own. That is normally when Netflix and YouTube came in, or reading a good book.

Uni was a fantastic experience but I am excited to start my next chapter in life, a job, career, my own house, traveling and enjoying being me. Although I am sad to be leaving uni, it will be weird not living with my lovely housemates, its going to be hard not to be so close to all my friends, but I knwo they will all still be there for me. Love them all....

If you're worried at all about uni, give me a message or comment. Uni may seem big and scary but it's a wonderful experience that you will never forget.

Inspire Black Plain Skort - quick review

I purchased these from New Look's Inspire range. I love to wear shorts but always get worried how they sit and if they are going to ride up or not. I brought these online for £14.99 and I adore them. I got them in a size 20, but could have easily got an 18. The are the right side of baggy. Lovely light fabric that doesn't cling to your skin. They float which is lovely.... and they have pockets! I do love a good surprise pocket :D
*

Here I am... attempting to model the lovely little skorts. I always hated showing my legs, but I felt a lot more confident in these. I've tucked in a flowerly vest into the skorts , and paired it with a light blue denim jacket also from New Look (size 18). The shoes are Primark's finest, size 8, £6. I really like this little outfit, and perfect for the summer. I'd use a satchel to pull the piece together and of course a nice pair of sunglasses.

I am really enjoying these kind of post and I hope you guys are to. I have a few more items of clothes I want to review. So will post those soon.

What is wrong with my sleep pattern?

I have never been a morning person. It would take 3 alarms and my mum waking me up every morning before school. And now that I am at university it has not got any better. Even the thought of a 9 am lecture would make me internally cry! I dread to think what it will be like when I start a real job, in the ever so real world!

I've been at uni now for 3 years and I am 2 days away from handing my last piece of work in to be marked! (cue exciting squeals and a nervous laugh and a sigh of relief) But because I have nearly finished everything it is giving me time to think about anything other than my dissertation and that final assignment... And what am I thinking about?  My sleeping pattern!

Last night I went to bed at 2 am, read for an hour then didn't actually go to sleep until 4/5 ish. I then woke up at 12:30 pm. This is terrible, I am getting enough sleep but at the wrong times! I blame uni for this completely. I do not have my mum or dad forcing me out of bed at 8/9 am everyday. When I return home for holidays or weekends etc. I tend to go to bed at 11 pm and get up for 9 am, which is ideal. I get a full 8+ hours of sleep every night and I feel like I do more with my day. But at uni, the idea of getting up before noon is a crazy idea and one not worth thinking about.

So, I vow from Monday the 11th of May I will wake up at 9 am every day for a month just to get myself used to waking up and going to bed at appropriate times. So why have I chosen the 11th and not to start tomorrow... well I am going to be honest, it's already 1:20 am as I write this and I will not be getting up before 11 am tomorrow. Also, next week is about celebrating, all my work would have been handed in, which means of course alcoholic beverages and many of them... well too many of them! Next week is dedicated to my friends and making the most of uni before I have to up and leave on the 1st of June :(.

I am hoping by the 1st of June I will have a confirmed job and either be in training or start training to become a support worker/ trainee social worker. And this means long shifts often starting in the early mornings. So, I need to get this sleeping thing under control!

No more late night blogging sessions for me! Sensible sleeping and waking up times for me! Time to grow up, get a job and sadly mature just a little.

Thanks for reading,
Love Yah

The struggles of a plus size women.

I have always been larger and to me its not really bothered me. Until recently. Myself and my friends have been looking for new clothes, students loans are in and its summer, it's time for a new wardrobe! However, being a size 18 it can be really hard to find clothes that I feel confident in.

New Look is my number one choice for clothes shopping, they normally have a wonderful plus size range. However, my recent online purchases really disappointed me. I normally go for a size 18 in most things, however this time round I decided to play it safe and get a size 20. I was really excited to try on my new items, however when I started trying on my clothes I was so disappointed, I was almost in tears.

This was my first choice, I fell in love with it instantly. A cute little play-suit, costing £19.99. I thought it was great value. However, when I put it on I was very disappointed. The bottom fitted so perfectly, but the top half was so tight and restricting, I was the most upset that this did not fit because of how much I loved it.
I am tempted to try a bigger size, but I am a bit apprehensive about it. I will keep you posted...

How adorable is this little thing? Costing £22.99. I love this dress, however when I tried it on, it fitted fine, but just didn't sit right on my frame. I have a naturally longer torso than my legs. Which often sucks, because this dress didn't sit right at all. Which was a massive shame. Still a lovely dress though.

I fell in love with these shoes, they were meant to go with my summer ball dress, which is black, I wanted to do a black and white theme.
These wide fit caged shoes were £29.99, in size 8. Which is my normal size shoe, I never get anything different, always a size 8. I have a lot of shoes from New Look and never had trouble with them fitting, until this pair. Which was a massive shame because I was really looking forward to wearing them. However, I found an equally wonderful pair... in New Look.

Not all doom and gloom, I did manage to get a brilliant pair of black skinny jeans that fit perfectly and a pair of shoes. Also, a black dress which I will be wearing to my university summer ball, but was from Boohoo, I haven't brought much from Boohoo but after my black dress fits perfectly, and is quite flattering on my full figure.

The dress is a size 18 from Boohoo, costing £22. I am in love with this little black dress, and cannot wait to wear it.

The shoes are from New Look, costing £24.99. They are lovely and comfortable, I've worn them around the house and they are lovely. And go nicely with my dress.

If you enjoyed this I would love feedback, It's something very different from what I normally write about, but I enjoyed writing this. I have purchased a few other pieces, so may do another blog about them. Let me know your thoughts.

The past few days...

I started this week beyond happy, everything felt like it was falling into place. I was doing well with work, feeling more confident and lined up another interview for May. But then things slowly started falling apart, my Facebook account got hacked so I had to make a new one, the shower broke and then something I didn't expect happened.

Someone who I thought understood me surprised me and not in a good way. I felt let down and a little heartbroken. I had a very bad panic attack, and I was unable to leave the house for 2 days. I'm fine now, happy as I can be. But this person I don't think quite understood how hard it was for me at the time. I can't explain why or when my panic attacks happen and come on, sometimes it is stress related sometimes it just happens. I don't blame this person for anything, and they made the right decision for them and I don't want them to read this and think I am bitching or ranting because I'm really not.

But after a little cry I decided to use this as a new opportunity, no distractions from anything. I made a list of little things to get me through the next month or so. Here it is, another list :P :

  1. I have one month left of uni, it's time to make the most of it.
  2. I have a fantastic family.
  3. My friends are the best I could ever ask for.
  4. I have 3 new tattoos planned for next week! NEXT WEEK!
  5. I will be starting a fantastic job soon and will be independent properly.
  6. My 21st is only a few months away.
  7. I cannot wait for one last blow out at summerball.
  8. I have graduation
These are just a few small things that are getting me through everything. I am happy! I won't let the little things get me down anymore.

SO if you see me around with a stupid grin on my face, its because I made myself happy. I am happy with who I am
